Description

Boydtown is a suburb of South Coast, New South Wales and is about 380 kms south- southwest of NSW's capital city of Sydney. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Boydtown was 162 when there were 82 Females and 80 Males living there. Boydtown is a village on Twofold Bay near Eden, on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia. It was the original settlement in the bay, founded by Benjamin Boyd in 1843 to service his properties on the Monaro plains. The remains of whaling stations and the local landmark Boyd's Tower, a stone spotting tower used to look for whales, are all nearby. Postcode of Boydtown (NSW) is 2551. Boytown was the original settlement of Two Fold Bay. The beach is located around the mouth of the Nullica River, about 10 minutes south of Eden. The historic beachfront Seahorse Inn built by Boyd in the 1840s has been restored and is now a hotel. In addition there are two beachfront caravan parks.
